Working with an Online Business Manager

Working With An Online Business Manager

Are you a successful woman CEO and business owner whose multiple 6 or 7 figure online business feels out of control?

You're stuck in growth? Overwhelmed? Frustrated? and Overworked?

Are you leaving money on the table because you simply don't have the time to take on more in your business?

Are you and your team always operating in reactionary mode?

Ever thought seriously about walking away because you're so wiped-out from the day-to-day running of your business.

If this sounds like you, it's time to hire a Second-in-Command, an online business manager.

What is an Online Business Manager?

According to Tina Forsyth, the author of Becoming an Online Business Manager, the official definition of an Online Business Manager (OBM) is:

A virtually based support professional who manages online-based businesses, including the day-to-day management of projects, operations, team members, and metrics.

Tina stated in simply -

An OBM is responsible to get the right things done, at the right time, in the right way and by the right person.

The bottom line focus of the Online Business Manager is to free up the business owner so that they can focus their time and energy on the things that only THEY can do in their business.

Online Business Managers Collaborate With Mission Driven Business Owners Who are Doing Work That Matters and Changing Lives – Coaches, Consultants, Speakers, Authors, Trainers and Transformation Agents.  ~Tina Forsyth

An Online Business Manager is a professional business manager who runs the company's daily operations opening up the CEO's time to focus on serving clients and strategic growth.

Tina first started the Online Business Manager movement in 2008 with her revolutionary book and subsequent Certified Online Business Manager Program.

In the beginning, not many business owners had even heard the term Online Business Manager.

They just knew they needed a higher level of support in their business than the support they received from virtual assistants who's role is to execute delegated tasks in the business.

It's now 10 years later and more and more most coaches, consultants, trainers, and service providers are thrilled to find and hire an experienced and results-driven Certified Online Business Manager?

My Pivotal Moment

I read Tina's book in 2008 just after leaving my corporate cubicle in a major insurance company.

With nearly 30 years of business operations and administrative support experience in my rear-view mirror and I was looking for a way to work from my home.

Like many of you, I had a deep need for freedom and autonomy while continuing to support my family's lifestyle and making a difference in the world around me.

Tina's words and experience unveiled a significant need in the marketplace for skilled business and operations managers to provide higher-level support to Visionary CEOs and business owners in the online space.

Bingo! That was me.

I immediately invested in myself (my first big investment) with enrolling in the first-ever Certified Online Business Manager program.

The program was tough and exhilarating all at the same time.

I already knew how to be a manager of people, projects, goals, and organizations. This program set me on the path to applying those skills in an online environment supporting Visionary Online Entrepreneurs.

I was certified in September 2009 and haven't looked back!

Online Business Managers are wired to be ruthless finishers.

Gets stuff done and makes things happen!

Are wired to bring order out of chaos.

How Does An Online Business Manager Support the Visionary?

The Online Business Manager gives the business owner time and space to be the Visionary CEO to serve her clients, plan the company's growth and future, and use her gifts to their fullest potential.

An Online Business Manager keeps all the balls in the air operating in the Integrator role of the business.

Gino Wickman and Mark C. Winters first defined the Integrator role in their book, Rocket Fuel: The One Essential Combination that Will Get You More of What You Want from Your Business.

The Integrator harmoniously combines the major functions of the business (sales, marketing, operations, and finance), runs the organization, and manages day-to-day issues.

This role is literally the glue that holds the people, processes, systems, and strategy of the company together.

The Integrator role creates space so the business owner, the Visionary, can fully step into the CEO role and do what she's called to do-change the world.

Finding an Integrator role for your business would take a big load off your mind and off your plate, wouldn't it?

Since 2008, I've been operating in the Integrator role for my client's businesses. I work with clients as an Online Business Manager or Virtual COO.

It's been my great honor and service to spend my days making my client's Vision's come to life!

Why Would A Visionary CEO and Business Owner Need an Online Business Manager?

When you first started your business, you had to be the one to wear all the hats.

You had to be the visionary and the INTEGRATOR.

You did it all!

You knew to operate in the role as implementer wasn't the best fit, but you could do it until the business grew a little and you could afford to hire support to implement your ideas.

Before you knew it, you were able to hire some team members to take care of the tedious execution work, but you couldn't let go of much more than that.

You still needed to lead and manage everything!

Delegation has been a struggle.

You told your family (and yourself) that wearing both hats wouldn't last much longer and you could handle it.

The sacrifice would be worth it!

Are You Stuck Wearing All the Hats in Your Business?

Now, your business is out of start-up and you're solidly operating in the GROWTH stage in the business growth cycle.

There's more going on every day.

Tasks and technology are more complicated and time-consuming.

It takes more people than just you to produce, deliver and maintain.

You're spending way too much time running the business...

Instead of leading it into the future.

You don't have the time you need to focus on the priorities and actions that will propel your business forward.

There's not enough of you to grow a business. You need help to grow and scale.

  • You're feeling overwhelmed, overworked and stressed.
  • You feel like you're losing control of your business.
  • There's no balance between the business and personal life.
  • You don't know how to think about your business.  You chase after tactics looking for the next thing.  This just causes you to spin out more.
  • You and you're small team operate primarily in reactionary mode.
  • You're leaving money on the table because you don't have the time or the resources to take on more.
  • You're at risk of losing the clients and customers you worked so hard to get because there aren't any systems, right team support or time for you to follow through with them.

Leverage Your Time to Accomplish Bigger Results

This is the phase of the business where you need to leverage your time in order to accomplish bigger goals.

When your organization is dependent on you doing all the work, or even most of it, you'll continue to struggle to grow.

You can increase profit and gain more freedom when you focus just on tasks and priorities that will GROW your business.

What do do with the rest?

DELEGATE everything else to a seasoned second-in-command, a mini YOU.

Leverage Your Time, Accomplish Bigger Results

You started your business with the intention of gaining FREEDOM and AUTONOMY, FINANCIAL SECURITY AND TO MAKE SIGNIFICANT AND LASTING CHANGES in the lives of others and the world!

Now you're just feeling stuck!

You've hit the eventual ceiling that all business owners hit when growing their organizations.

Hitting the ceiling is inevitable.

All businesses do it!

You're not alone!

Have you hit the ceiling?

Every successful woman entrepreneur I've seen comes to the critical point where she's exhausted and can go no farther - she can't continue to manage and grow the business by herself.

Is this you?

You need a second-in-command on your leadership team so you can efficiently move into the CEO Visionary role to grow your organization.

Transform your Business with an Online Business Manager

Your business needs a Visionary and an Integrator to be successful, and you can't be both to experience long and sustainable growth.

As the Visionary, you need an Integrator to implement and drive your vision, and your Integrator needs you to lead the company's direction and strategize its future.
