Because you want to do big things in this world, you've poured your heart and soul into the vision of building a business that would give you the WEALTH, FREEDOM, and AUTONOMY you crave.

You've persevered and stood strong through the early struggles of finding clients, serving them and increasing revenue.

Plus, you've been nothing short of RESILIENT on your entrepreneurial journey to grow your vision.

Now that your business has moved on the path to the GROWTH stage of the BUSINESS CYCLE, it's time for playing bigger.

It's starting to feel pretty uncomfortable, isn't it?

You've hit the ceiling in your ability to take your business to higher levels of profit, reach and freedom.

Actually, if you're like most business owners, you may have expected to have more freedom than you have right now.

You may also feel a little surprised that everything seems harder than it has to be.

You're working longer and longer hours and losing sleep at night because of dropped balls and a growing task list.

It can feel pretty darn overwhelming, frustrating and confusing!

Signs that You've Hit the Ceiling in Your Business and It's Time to Start Playing Bigger.

The following are some signs that you'll no doubt experience as you hit the ceiling of growth in your company.

Directional Signs
  • Everything seems harder than it has to be.
  • You're BURIED in the day-to-day running of your business. STUCK in growth.
  • You're feeling FRUSTRATED, OVERWHELMED, and STRESSED as you're working longer and longer hours everyday on operational tasks which aren't getting you closer to your profit and business goals.
  • Expenses are soaring!  Your business is now larger and more complex. It takes more resources, such as team and technology, to produce and deliver your products and services to your growing list. And, you're still trying to manage it all!
  • You can't sleep at night worrying about what didn't get done and what slipped through the cracks.
  • You'd like for the business to grow to higher levels but sometimes question whether you're really equipped for growth.
  • You're sitting on a treasure chest of opportunities to increase revenue, and you don't have the bandwidth or resources to explore and follow-through.
  • You resent being buried in all the minutiae of running the business and just wish you could spend time operating in your own zone of genius: serving your clients and leading your company to the next level.
  • At the end of the day, you feel depleted, uninspired, and maybe have thoughts of "giving up."
  • You're feeling stressed.  The day-to-day grind is burning you out and killing your creativity.
  • You feel like you're losing control of your business.

You're Not Alone

This phase of the business growth cycle, right when business owners need to play bigger, is where many CEOs hit the wall.

Where they can't grow any further with their existing set of skills, resources, and knowledge.

You're Not Alone!

Every successful CEO must pass through this stage to get to the other side of success and play bigger.

Typically, signs of this phase begin to show up around the $250K revenue mark.

This is what Dan Sullivan of Strategic Coach calls the "Ceiling of Complexity."

He goes on to claim that for some, this ceiling becomes a permanent fixture. And, many people fail to grow beyond this stage.

In my experience in working with my clients, the challenges of this phase bring them clarity.

I see this phase as the crucial moment where the CEO must make meaningful decisions that will impact the forward direction of the company.

Many will remain stuck and others will take the actions that will grow and scale to higher levels of success.

Playing Bigger and Breaking Through the Ceiling

Breaking through the ceiling will take courage, self-discipline, and perseverance.

It requires you to rise up and begin playing bigger in your business.

You'll be required to step up and fully embrace a new role in your business; the role of CEO leader.

Strategies to Break the Ceiling

The following strategies can help you to break through the ceiling and shift you to play a bigger game in your business.

Playing Bigger with a Business Coach or Mentor

Succeeding as an entrepreneur requires a mindset of determination, focus, self-discipline, and perseverance.

Many times, internal issues such as fear, lack of confidence, and other negative beliefs can cause us to sabotage the very success we want.

Do you have a scalable business?

As business owners, we get in our own way a lot.

We spend waaaay too much time in our heads. We need someone to help pull us through, fast-track results, and decrease mistakes.

Hiring a coach or mentor who has successfully traveled the path before will help you open up pathways that lead to unstoppable success.

Some business owners will place their business growth on pause. They'll succumb to the fear of "how much it will cost" when making crucial business decisions.

Believe me, not getting the support needed to grow your business is infinitely more pricey.

The longer it takes for you to get the right support, the longer it will take for you to realize the very success you want.

Leveraging Your Time by Playing Bigger

You're the Visionary CEO and leader of your company.

If you want to breakthrough ceilings and shift your business to higher levels, you must have the time and creative energy to focus on actions that will get you there.

Everything else must be DELEGATED!

Many women in the growth stage are spending most of their time buried in day-to-day tasks and details that will not propel their organization to the next level.

It's time to delegate everything that is not essential for you to do to directly grow your business.

Hire for Your Weaknesses

Can you imagine you could accelerate the growth of your business if you spent your day focused only on the strengths you bring to your table.

Women Business Owner Dreaming

It is a savvy business action to hire people who are experts at what you're not great at.

Often the best thing to do is to decide what not to do.

Systems and Processes for Playing Bigger

Business systems, processes, and standards play a key role in building a profitable and sustainable business.

They serve as the company’s essential building blocks and support.

Without systems and standards, a business can only grow so far, and in most cases will begin to fall apart.

In the start-up and growth stages of business, systems and processes are typically limited.

Systems can feel too constricting for Visionary business owners.

As the business moves through GROWTH to the scaling phase, setting up and documenting systems and processes needs to become a predominant business growth strategy.

Systems and processes improve performance, ensure efficiency and consistent results, reduce cost, increase revenue and reduce errors in a quickly moving business.

Hire a Second-In-Command Role

In the early stages of business growth, you did everything yourself.

As your business entered the growth stage, you hired a few team members to support your business by executing tasks in the business.

But, you're still caught in the role of "DOING."

This daily rabbit hole is keeping you from breaking through the ceiling in your business.

You're still managing operations, team building and daily management, project management, and marketing implementation.

Money is left on the table as you simply don't have the bandwidth to take on one more opportunity.

Often, you struggle with the fact that you've become a "bottleneck" to things getting done.

You're still the "go to" person who deals with day-to-day issues and details that are time-consuming and quite frankly, excruciating for you as a Visionary Entrepreneur.

If you want to play a bigger game in your business

... you will need to release the day-to-day to a seasoned Second-in-Command role, a mini-You.

A Second-in-Command is a perfect compliment to your Visionary role.

This Second-in-Command role is naturally wired to be an Integrator who is ruthlessly driven to get stuff done and ensure a stable and efficiently running business.

A Second-in-Command will build and manage a team that will be the right people in the right seats to drive your business forward.

Playing Bigger in Your Business

How about you?

Are you ready to begin playing bigger in your business?

Are you aware of what's holding you back?

When you're playing bigger in your business, you're making decisions to take actions. You'll

do the things that will mature that idea that kept you up all night typing on your laptop or writing on a yellow pad day, month and years before.

You're participating fully in feeding that vision to see it's maturity in your life and the lives of others.

Building a business is never a straight line.

There are stages just like in human development where we experience challenges, pain and then evolution to the next stage.

If you have the courage to play bigger, I'm right there with you, cheering you on. ?

Go play big!
